Applications are now being accepted for those seeking an opportunity to work in Falls Creek for the at our 3.5 star lodge, catering up to 50 guests.

Diana Alpine Lodge has had a long held  reputation for friendly and family-orientated atmosphere, understated customer service; and quality and wholesome food.  
The successful applicants will be those who are passionate about continuing this reputation; mindful of the environment, atmosphere and type of guests the lodge attracts.
Working in a small team at close proximity to our guests can be a rewarding experience, and has lead many to making long term friends with those they work with and look after.
We expect staff to be dedicated and experienced people with a focus on customer service and eagerness to ensure guests have a great experience in Falls Creek.
All personnel are expected to be flexible with duties and shifts, therefore an understanding and preparedness to work in different roles are most desirable.



We seek an experienced cook to work as assistant to head chef, who is passionate about producing quality food for guests in a friendly and family-orientated atmosphere;

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance of kitchen operation including ensuring food handling and hygiene standards and regulations are met;
  • Developing a menu and preparing food;
  • Food ordering and stock management; and
  • Directing, or assist directing, a small team to ensure all these aspects are completed

Candidates would also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A focus on quality
  • Strong in aspects of overall management of kitchen.
  • Ability to motive and engage staff with good interpersonal skills
  • An attention to food costs, maintaining budgets and staff rostering.

Guest services -  Waiting/ Front of house/ Housekeeping/ Child care (expect to undertake all duties) - positions now filled, try again next year

These positions may include all or some of the duties listed. A position in guest services is ideal for those who excel in customer service and are prepared to be hands on, in multitudes of duties:

  • undertaking general waiting duties including cleaning of tables;
  • cleaning, tidying and setting up dining room;
  • assist in kitchen with food preparation and cleaning as required;
  • assist with front desk duties: reception; reservations; receiving, welcoming and orientating guests; providing resort and lodge information;
  • transferring guests' baggage to and from rooms;
  • servicing and cleaning accommodation and communal areas;
  • assist parents during children's meal time, supervising and engaging children in appropriate evening activities.

Kitchen Attendant/ Store person/ Maintenance

There may be an expectation to undertake other duties such as those listed above. 

  • general cleaning duties within a kitchen or food preparation area and scullery, including the cleaning of cooking and general utensils used in a kitchen and dining room;
  • assisting employees who are cooking;
  • receive and store general and perishable goods and cleans the store area;
  • undertake minor repair or maintenance depending on level of skills or experience;
  • handyperson duties such as shovelling snow, chopping firewood, cleaning and maintaining spa and sauna.


  • We offer competitive wages, remuneration is based on the award but acknowledge skills and experience.
  • Shared accommodation can be arranged for successful full time applicants. Rent is charged on a fortnightly basis.
  • Those seeking part-time work are welcome to apply, but accommodation may not be available.
  • Due to the nature and environment, candidates are expected to be in reasonable health and fitness
  • Positions usually commence mid June and finish mid to late September. Candidates must be prepared to relocate to the area during the snow season.
  • Applicants must be able to attend an interview in Falls Creek or Melbourne.
  • It is not required for your employment to have experience skiing or snowboarding.
  • We do not require Bar staff.
  • For the right person with extensive cooking skills - there maybe an ongoing position, year round.
