Life after Winter
Outside the winter months is a wonderful time to experience Falls Creek. A great energy is released once nature is released from the blanket of snow which covers the mountains and the Bogong High Plains are completely transformed. Spring and summer are the time to experience the abundant wildliufe and flora and alternative mountain activities, including bush walking, mountain biking and fishing.
Summer Activities
The high country, mountain trails, chairlift rides and now, the newly sealed Bogong High Plains Road linking Falls Creek to the Great Alpine Road, opens up endless opportunities for mountain biking or road cycling.
Live the cattlemen legend and explore the High Plains by horseback. Trails meander around the village, to the lakes and aqueducts, past the historical huts and the colourful wildflowers. These surrounds make for great horseriding but are also fabulous for bush walkers and hikers to explore from dawn to dusk. There are an ample number of great walks starting from right outside our door, from easy strolls in and around Falls Creek Village to strenuous mountain hikes. Hiking is a great way to enjoy the stunning vistas of Falls Creek and the surrounding area and to understand and appreciate the Alpine landscape.

Right at Falls Creek's back door is the Rocky Valley Lake, which has access for all types of non-powered boats and water craft. It has been used by elite rowers for their training and is the site of the Mile High Dragon Boat Championships in January.
Next to Falls Creek itself, Rocky Valley, the more secluded Pretty Valley Lake and other mountain streams hold wild trout that provide excellent fishing for anglers. Seasonal activities such as chairlift rides, open-air cinema, kid's club and tennis/sports courts, and events like the Big Fella Festival, A Taste of Falls Creek, Billy Cart Derby, Easter and the Falls Ball add to the Falls Creek Summer Experience.
