Summer |Diana Alpine Lodge |Falls Creek

Outside the winter months is a wonderful time to experience Falls Creek. A great energy is released once nature is released from the blanket of snow. Late spring, summer and early autumn are the time to experience the abundant wildlife and flora; explore the mountains by foot or by bike; or just take time our or go fishing.

Explore the High Plains by horseback. Trails meander around the village, to the lakes and aqueducts, past the historical huts and the colourful wildflowers. These surrounds make for great horseriding but are also fabulous for bush walkers and hikers to explore from dawn to dusk.

Hike the iconic Falls to Hotham Crossing Trail over three days and take in some majestic views. There are also options to hike between the two resorts within one day and be supported through us and our Hotham counterparts.

Falls Creek has become a hot spot for cyclists from around the world who seek to train and stay at altitude. Cyclists can ride the spectacular 235km Alpine Loop from Falls Creek circumnavigating through Omeo, Mt Hotham, then back to Falls Creek via Mt Beauty from November to May. Take part in the 3 Peaks Challenge Event in March or undertake the self-paced touring 7 Peaks Alpine Ascent Challenge between November and March taking in Falls Creek and 3 of the other Victorian alpine resorts.

World Trails have been creating an exciting new cross country and downhill mountain bike trails around the resort with stage 3 opening in November 2015. The trails will be expanded in coming years, putting Falls Creek on the map for mountain biking.

Right at Falls Creek's back door is the Rocky Valley Lake, which has access for all types of non-powered boats and water craft. It has been used by elite rowers for their training and is the site of the Mile High Dragon Boat Championships in January.

Next to Falls Creek itself, Rocky Valley, the more secluded Pretty Valley Lake and other mountain streams hold wild trout and chinook salmon that provide excellent fishing for anglers. There are also easonal activities such as chairlift rides, summer movie cinema, kid's club and tennis courts, and Easter add to the Falls Creek Summer Experience.
